Rafael Roca leads operations and project supply. He is a forest engineer trained in the Peruvian Amazon with a dual master’s of environmental science and MBA from Yale University. He spent 4 years at McKinsey & Company as senior engagement manager, leading the implementation of +10 projects across +5 industries with teams of 20-50 people across Latam. Before joining Earthshot, he was a former investor in nature-based solutions carbon projects as founding partner of Global Green Capital, Rocket Internet’s sustainability investment arm. His on the ground experience with Enel exposed him to the early days of the voluntary carbon market back in 2010, validating 2MM VCUs for energy efficiency. He has on-the-ground forestry experience doing ethnography on deforestation sites with illegal gold mining, and building community led cookstove and coffee projects in the Amazon.
