Earthshot Labs Joins the International Emissions Trading Association as a Member

Earthshot Labs officially joins the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), a preeminent organization for guidance and thought leadership in market-based solutions for climate change.

"We’re delighted to welcome Earthshot Labs as a member of IETA and a collaborator on our path to meeting the Paris Agreement climate goals,” said Dirk Forrister, CEO of IETA. “Together with Earthshot Labs, IETA supports leveraging the power of markets to price carbon effectively and deliver net-zero targets. We’ll be working together to strengthen and scale-up carbon markets to finance the climate transition."

Earthshot Labs brings together investors, carbon buyers, and land stewards to finance ecological restoration projects that are equitable for local communities.

Patrick Leung, co-founder of Earthshot Labs, said, “Earthshot Labs is thrilled and honored to join IETA to help advance the state of the art in carbon markets. We look forward to joining the other thought leaders in this group to advance nature-based carbon markets that encompass fully functioning ecosystems while supporting social equity and justice.”

Founded in 2021 following a $7 million seed round, Earthshot Labs has scaled quickly. By developing project partnerships in over a dozen countries, the company is currently supporting the development of over 30 forest restoration and conservation projects, establishing itself as a leading supplier of high quality nature-based carbon credits. This partnership with IETA is both a recognition of Earthshot’s track record and its ongoing commitment to excellence in providing nature-based solutions to climate change.

Oliver Miltenberger, Earthshot’s Head of Carbon Markets, said, “IETA's work to improve quality, transparency, equity, and efficacy of carbon markets is core to our mission at Earthshot Labs and we are honored to jointly move the cause forward.”
